Fire Department

Dedicated, motivated, and highly trained personnel set the Wauconda Fire Department apart from the rest. In addition to 24-hour emergency response coverage, full-time and part time personnel perform non-emergency duties as well.

Regular routines include fire prevention activities, vehicle and building maintenance, and public education classes, such as CPR & first-aid.

The Fire Prevention Bureau provides inspections, building plan reviews and fire investigations. The Bureau staff is
instrumental in the creation and enforcement of local ordinances concerning fire & public safety issues. The Bureau also oversees the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), a team of community volunteers who are well trained and stand ready to assist in times of disaster and various
non-emergency community events.

 
The Wauconda Fire Department provides service to all or part of the municipalities of Wauconda, Island Lake, Tower Lakes, Hawthorn Woods, Lake Barrington, North Barrington, Port Barrington, Volo, and Lakemoor, as well as unincorporated areas of Lake and McHenry Counties.

Wauconda Fire Dept. works hard to meet the changing needs of the communities.
