The Wauconda Police Department provides police services to the community around the clock, seven days a week. There are 24 full time, sworn officers consisting of a Chief, Deputy Chief, six Sergeants and 16 officers. Four personnel make up the Detective Division who also staff community service programs such as Elderly Service Officer, School Resource Officer/Dare Officer and Citizens Police Academy. The
department has many juvenile officers and also several Marine Unit Officers perform required safety inspections of all |

watercraft on the lake, assist boaters as needed and also help to maintain the quality of Bangs Lake. Safety inspection stickers are required for all watercraft on the lake and are purchased from Marine Unit Officers at the time of inspections. Safety Sticker fees and Village of Wauconda boating and fishing regulations are posted on the department web site at www.waucondapolice.com under “Marine Patrol.” The
department offers station tours, block party attendance, emergency
notification lists by address, vacation house watches, home security
